Cloud Nine Scarf

A MOREHOUSE MERINO ORIGINAL PATTERN

Size: about 70" long and 10" wide

Yarn:
Worsted weight yarn (about 450 yards)
The sample shown is knit using
Morehouse Merino 3-Strand Yarn

Needles:
29" circular needle #9
(scarf is knit the long way,
a circular needle will accommodate
the number of stitches more easily
than single-point needles)

Gauge: not crucial

Cast on 185 stitches and knit 4 rows.

Start pattern:
Row 1 *knit 1, yarn over needle;
rep from * to end of row, ending with knit 1
Row 2 *knit 1, drop yarn-over;
rep from * to end of row, ending with knit 1
(after finishing row 2, pull knitting down,
to even out stitches)
Row 3 knit
Row 4 knit

Repeat these four rows to desired width of scarf (if using Morehouse 3-Strand, knit to end of third skein, but make sure you have enough yarn to complete final 4 rows and bind off). End scarf with row 2 of pattern, then knit 4 rows and bind off very, very loosely (bind off should be as stretchy as knitting pattern).

Finishing: soak scarf in warm water for a few minutes. Squeeze out as much water as possible. Then lay it flat to dry, stretching scarf as long and as wide as possible.
