Introduction to Brioche: Two Color Brioche in the Round

October 2, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Intro to Brioche: Two-Color Brioche in the Round Amy Snell the Devious Knitter joins us again to unlock the secrets of squishy, captivating brioche knitting! Working brioche in the round is easier than flat, and two colors are easier to keep track of than one. You’ll learn the magic of working this fun and fluffy stitch as you begin to work the Bri-Licious Cowl in class (you not finish the cowl during the class time, but will know everything you need to know in order to finish on your own with the self-paced course). This class is suitable for first-time brioche knitters and the pattern will be supplied in class.  Students should know how to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, work in the round, YO and slip stitches. Materials:
  • 2 skeins of Morehouse Merino 3-strand worsted (one in a dark color and one in a light color)
  • 16″ circular needle one size smaller than you usually use for worsted weight yarn.  If you’re not sure, try a US size 6.
Homework:  Using long-tail cast-on, cast on 90 stitches loosely and join to work in the round. Knit one round, knitting every stitch. Knit a second round in K1 P1 ribbing.
