Our adventures took us to Shelburne Falls, MA, where the Western Massachusetts Fibershed hosts its processing equipment.
Here, shepherds can bring their wool to be made into wool pellets. We brought two bags of skirtings and belly wool and ended with 54 pounds of pellets!
if you haven’t met Anne, she’s a fellow wool enthusiast and promoter, champion of knitting and its heritage, particularly of Shetland, (soon to be degreed!) event planner, and fan of the Oxford comma. She also hosts a podcast called ‘I Thought I Knew How’ and chronicled our day in Episode 127. Click here to listen.
Click here (or scroll down) to watch the little video (2 minutes) of how they’re made.
And finally, of course you can order some of your very own!
