Lark’s Alvina Knitalong Yarn

From: $32.00

Lark’s Alvina is a design by Louisa Harding of Yarntelier, and the pattern is available in her book “Shawls Scarves and Wraps.”  You can find it at your local bookstore, local yarn store, or if that’s not possible at the moment, you can always get it from Amazon.   We’ll be knitting Evanthe to learn beading, and Tansie after that because we’re worth it and deserve a fine wrap for ourselves!  If you knit along with us, you’ll find the book well worth the investment – not only does it work out to 3 patterns at the normal price, I’m already game to knit all the rest as well.

The shawl, as written, takes 2 skeins of Morehouse Merino Lace.  If you want to make your larger, it’s an easily adaptable pattern!  Grab a 3rd skein by increasing the number in your cart below.

Our samples are shown in Willow (knit by Anne Frost of the I Thought I Knew How Podcast) and Kelly (knit by Erin while she’s on conference calls working at home.  Shhh!)

Lark’s Alvina is knit on size 6 needles.  Yes!!  That’s correct – this is not a microscopic project by any means!  Be sure to swatch to ensure you achieve the pattern gauge so that you get the shawl size pictured AND you have enough yarn.  You can add a 3rd skein by clicking the button next to quantity if you’d like to increase the size of your shawl.

Our knit along is hosted in the Morehouse Farm Merino Facebook Group.  This is our 42nd monthly knitalong!  Read more about how out knitalongs work here.
