Breast Cancer Support Lapghan by VanessaKnits PDF Pattern
$0.00
When I was 16 years old, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. At just 45 years of age, she was the first in our family to receive such a diagnosis. A few years later, her younger sister would receive the same diagnosis. A few years after that — their aunt. We all know someone who has battled this disease so I wanted to do something that knitters could knit to give back and support our loved ones who are in the midst of their fight. I remember when my mom would go to her chemotherapy sessions, the rooms were always so cold and sterile. Often, patients had small blankets on their laps (“lapghansâ€) to keep them warm while they sat for their treatment. What better way to figuratively AND literally keep your loved one warm and surrounded by love than by knitting them a special blanket?Â
I made this pattern available for free in an attempt to pay it forward. Instead of paying me for this pattern, I ask that you pay it forward in whatever way you wish — whether that be donating to a charity, donating your time or knitting one of these blankets for a local hospital — your choice! Thank you for helping to spread the love in this world.   xo, Vanessa
